Seychelles Wedding Requirements – FAQ
We like to get married in the Seychelles, how to start?

How about our Passports?
Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the estimated departure date from Seychelles.
Will the marriage be accepted in Germany or England?
Yes, legally conducted marriages in Seychelles are recognized worldwide and also under European laws.
We are from France, is there anything special?
French nationals wishing to get married in the Seychelles must follow different procedures, please contact your local municipality or the French Embassy on Mahé, Tel: +248 38 25 00, Email: firstname.lastname@example.org for advise.
When do you need the copies of the documents from us?
We need them at least 12 days before your wedding date. If you like to marry spontaneous, we need the documents 3 days before your wedding date, an extra fee of 120 Euros applies.
How shall we send you our documents?
Simply scan all, and send to our email address, we confirm the receipt once received.
What documents do you need to prepare?
To prepare your wedding papers for the Registrar, we need all applicable documents scanned and send to us by email.
When to supply the hardcopies of the requested documents?
When you arrive in the Seychelles you should have either the originals or certified copies of all documents with you.
Can we invite guests to our wedding ceremony?
For a beach wedding you can invite guests. In case your ceremony is set within a hotel or resort, we have to check the availibility and access. In case you need accommodation for your your guests, just let us know how many guests will be attending and our reservations team will assist in booking their holiday.
How do I get my wedding dress to the Seychelles?
If possible, we recommend to pack the dress professionaly and carry it in your hand luggage, trolley or similar – in case your checked luggage gets lost and the arrival is in delay, you have your dress for the wedding day.
Who will conduct our ceremony?
Ceremonies are conducted by the Registrar in accordance with Seychelles Law, which ensures your wedding is completely legal.
In what language is the ceremony held?
All weddings will be conducted in English
How long does the ceremony take?
The ceremony will last for approximately 20.30 minutes.
Do we need Witnesses?
Two witnesses above the age of 18 years are required to be present throughout the proceedings. You can bring your own one or in case you travel alone, we provide two local citicens at witnesses free of charge.
How long does it take till we get our Marriage Certificate?
The Marriage Certificate will be produced within 2-3 working days after the civil ceremony.
