How about our passports?
Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the estimated departure date from Seychelles.
Will the marriage be accepted in UAE?
Yes, legally conducted marriages in Seychelles are recognized also in UAE.
Will the marriage be accepted in Germany or England?
Yes, legally conducted marriages in Seychelles are recognized worldwide and also under European laws.
We are from France, is there anything special?
French nationals wishing to get married in Seychelles must follow different procedures, please contact your local municipality or the French Embassy in Mauritius.
When do you need the copies of the documents from us?
We need them at least 12 days before your wedding date. If you like to marry spontaneously, we need the documents at the very latest 5 days before your wedding date, an extra late filing fee of 50€ applies.
How shall we send you our documents?
Simply scan or make a quality photo and send it to our email address, we confirm the receipt once received.
What documents do you need to prepare?
To prepare your wedding papers for the Registrar, we need all applicable documents (see list above) scanned and send to us by email.
When to supply the hard-copies of the requested documents?
When you arrive in Seychelles you should have either the originals or hard-copies of all documents with you.
Can we invite guests to our wedding ceremony?
Yes, you can invite guests to your beach wedding. Please tell us how many guests will attend your wedding. The fee per guest is 15 EUR. Due to may changing COVID19 regulations, always ask for the latest regulation.
How do I get my wedding dress to Seychelles?
If possible, we recommend packing the dress professionally and carry it in your hand luggage, trolley, or similar – in case your checked luggage gets lost and the arrival is delay, you have your dress for the wedding day.
Who will conduct our ceremony?
Ceremonies are conducted by the Registrar in accordance with Seychelles Law, which ensures your wedding is completely legal.
In what language is the ceremony held?
All weddings will be conducted in English or French language.
How long does the ceremony take?
The ceremony will last for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Do we need witnesses?
Two witnesses above the age of 18 years are required to be present throughout the proceedings. You can bring your own witnesses or we provide two witnesses for your wedding free of charge.
How long does it take till we get our Marriage Certificate?
The Marriage Certificate with Apostille will be produced within 2-3 working days after the civil ceremony. For couples on a short stay, we can send the wedding documents to their home address by DHL/FedEx courier service with tracking. For UAE, always ask for the actual processing time.
What is an Apostille?
An Apostille is a form of authentication issued to documents for use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961 to simplify the legalization of documents to verify their authenticity, in order to be valid internationally.
