Muslim wedding in Seychelles – a dreamlike island kingdom in the Indian Ocean with a variety of offers for sailing cruises, relaxing, hiking, snorkelling, and diving awaits you.
Turquoise waters, white fine sandy beaches, and temperatures averaging 30 °C offer a relaxing honeymoon for newlyweds who want to unwind after the exciting wedding preparations.
The Muslim wedding also called the Nikah ceremony, is among the most important events in Islam because getting married is a Prophetic tradition.
With more than 1.9 billion Muslims in the world, wedding traditions can vary a lot from family to family, sect to sect, and culture to culture. However, the Nikah ceremony and tying the knot as a Muslim are always the same at their core.
Traditionally, a Nikah marriage takes place at the beach, and the Imam is in charge of the ceremony. We help our couples set up the date and time for the Nikah and invite family and friends to attend.

What does Nikah Ceremony mean?
The Nikah is a religious ceremony that is required by Islamic law for a Muslim couple to be legally married. It’s a tradition from the prophets and the only way a man and a woman can get married.
This ceremony makes the marriage official because, according to Islamic law, a couple can’t get close without a Nikah. When the couple says, “I accept,” the Nikah gives God permission for them to be together.
What’s needed for a Nikah Ceremony?
The marriage Proposal
Like any other marriage, the Nikah process has to start with a proposal. Either the man or the woman can propose marriage as long as the goal is to get married. In many cultures, it is more common for the man to propose, but in Islam, the woman or her family can do so.
The Acceptance – Qubool
The Qubool is saying “yes” to the proposal, but you don’t have to say “yes” right away. In the time between the initial proposal and the final acceptance, the couple can meet as often as they want to get to know each other, as long as they do it in public or close to a chaperone.
We provide two Witnesses
For the Nikah, we provide two male witnesses who can say that the bride and groom say “I do” or “Qubool” of their own free choice and not because their families or anyone else forced them to. The bride and groom must both agree.
The Mahr, also called Dowry
The Mahr is a gift that the groom has to give to the bride. The bride or her family may ask for it. Most of the time, the bride chooses a lump sum of money. Sometimes, the bride might want a trip, gold, or anything else.
Of course, she is told to be fair and think about how much her future husband makes. The Mahr is also a symbol of the man’s duty to take care of and provide for his wife.
Wali – the bride’s Father
The father of the bride is called “Wali”. He is the one who “gives” his daughter away. If the father can’t come to Seychelles, he has to give written permission that his daughter can get married. In case the father is deceased, another male guardian or a family member has to provide written consent to the marriage.
The Nikah
Once all the criteria are met, anyone can perform the Nikah ceremony. The bride and groom say “qubool”, which means “I accept.” Then, the couple and the two male witnesses sign the contract, which makes the marriage legal under religious law.

Planning your Nikah from abroad
Most couples who marry with us in Seychelles plan everything remotely from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Oman, or Saudi Arabia and arrive just a few days before the ceremony. The process is straightforward.
Step 1: Choose your date and package
Contact us with your preferred travel dates. We check availability with the Imam and confirm your ceremony slot. Most couples book 4–12 weeks in advance, though shorter timelines are possible.
Step 2: Send your documents
You’ll need to send us scanned copies of both passports and birth certificates. If the bride’s father cannot attend, a written letter of permission from her father or male guardian is required. We’ll tell you exactly what’s needed for your specific situation.
Step 3: We handle the paperwork
We prepare and submit all required documentation to the civil registry and coordinate with the Imam. Apostille processing, translations, and any official filings are included in your package price.
Step 4: Arrive and celebrate
You arrive in Seychelles, we take care of the rest. The civil ceremony (if included) takes place first, followed by your Nikah on the beach or at the mosque. The full ceremony takes approximately one to two hours.
Step 5: Receive your marriage certificate
Your official Seychelles marriage certificate is issued after the ceremony. We can also manage legalisation or apostille for recognition in your home country, including UAE.
Got questions before you’re ready to book? Send us a message → we typically reply within 24 hours.
